Six out of ten people can’t name one of Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham’s achievements, according to a survey of 500 residents – but most people still think his office should be given more powers.
Research published today by charity Centre for Cities found that some 87 percent of people they spoke to think more power should be devolved to the Greater Manchester mayor’s office.
That’s even though six out of ten people said they couldn’t name one of his policy achievements. Among those that did, tackling homelessness came out top.
