Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Rangers are interested in winger Siriki Dembele. His younger brother Karamoko is on the books at Celtic but it's claimed scouts from Steven Gerrard's side have been to watch the 24-year-old on two occasions.
Representatives from the Scotland national team are also said to have paid a visit with Dembele qualifying for Steve Clarke's Euros-bound contingent while the Hoops have also been linked with a transfer interest.
Fry is adamant that Posh have no desire to sell as he revealed his bright star has also been previously watched by English Premier League Newcastle.
He told the Peterborough Telegraph : "Rangers have watched Siriki twice, as have the Scottish national side. Newcastle manager Steve Bruce watched him at Crewe when he didn’t play.
