New Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer opened his first cabinet meeting today with a rallying cry, telling gathered ministers - including Greater Manchester MPs: "We have a huge amount of work to do, so now we get on with our work." Sir Keir was flanked at the Cabinet table by his deputy and Housing Secretary, Angela Rayner, and Cabinet Secretary Simon Case.
The deputy PM, MP for Ashton-under-Lyne, was pictured walking into Downing Street shortly before 10.30am, but didn't answer any questions.
