Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed how a misunderstanding led to a furious row with Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Norwegian, known as a 'super-sub' during his playing days, found himself on the receiving end of Ferguson's infamous wrath after comments he made were misinterpreted by an English newspaper.
Solskjaer, who later followed in Ferguson's footsteps as manager at Old Trafford, recalled the incident during an interview for Bring On United. "In December 2000, I was in form and scored in four different league games," he said. "Then we played Newcastle away in the final game of the year.
It was one I didn't score in. We got a penalty and I should have taken it. Becks took it and put it in the top right corner.
