Ed Sheeran faces Manchester United backlash over Ruben Amorim incident

Manchester United supporters have expressed their displeasure at Ed Sheeran for what they deemed "disrespectful" behaviour after he interrupted Ruben Amorim's first post-match interview as United manager.

The match on Sunday saw United draw 1-1 with Ipswich Town, with Marcus Rashford scoring early from an Amad cross. Despite a spectacular long-range goal from Omari Hutchinson and some top saves from Andre Onana, the game ended in a draw.

Sheeran, an Ipswich fan who recently acquired a minority stake in the club, couldn't hide his joy over the result. During the Sky Sports interview with Amorim, Sheeran greeted pundit Jamie Redknapp while Amorim was mid-answer, leading presenter Kelly Cates to ask Sheeran about Ipswich's performance.

He enthusiastically responded: "I loved it, I love being back in the Premier League". Amorim appeared unamused by the interruption, and United fans took to social media to voice their annoyance.
