Sir Alex Ferguson had a feisty row during a phone call with Glenn Hoddle as he "ranted and raved" at the former England manager.Hoddle was manager of the Three Lions for three years during the second half of the 1990s after replacing Terry Venables following the end of Euro 1996.He oversaw victory at Le Tournoi in 1997 before England reached the round of 16 at the World Cup in France in 1998 before being beaten on penalties by Argentina after a 2-2 draw.Hoddle was later dismissed from his role after comments he made about the disabled in an interview with The Times in January 1999.Writing in his column for The Guardian, Hoddle discussed his relationship with the legendary former Manchester United manager during his time as England.
