There’s a lovely photograph of her at a family wedding wearing a full-on purple number complete with sailor collar, she looks like she’s just stepped out of a Laura Ashley catalogue (which was probably the intention).
She would dress me in a similar way, with my toddlerhood wardrobe populated by sweet dresses covered in bows, lace and frills.
Now I’m in my 30s and wish I could revisit my pre-school looks in adult sizes, having fallen hook, line and sinker for the chintz trend revival.
