Bridgerton has given fans all the romance we needed at the beginning of 2021 and provided us with much-needed entertainment in the third lockdown.
So, when we binged all eight episodes within a matter of days, it left many wanting to see more of the Netflix show, and in particular heartthrob Simon Basset played by Regé-Jean Page.
With this in mind, the first major casting for the second series will no doubt excite fans as it means the wheels are very much in motion for another instalment.
Sex Education and Broadchurch star Simone Ashley, 25, is set to play Kate Sharma, who will be the female lead and love interest of Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey.
