A prime suspect has been identified in a confidential report after concerns were raised that the horrific deaths of five elderly couples might be the work of a serial killer.
Similarities between the cases in the North West have been highlighted leading to the theory that a serial killer may potentially be responsible.
The report, penned by the senior coroner's officer for Cheshire, examines the deaths of Howard and Bea Ainsworth in 1996 and Donald and Auriel Ward in 1999, which took place two miles apart in Wilmslow.
