A teenage boy is missing after he failed to resurface while playing in a river with friends. A search operation was launched in Lechlade-on-Thames, Gloucestershire, overnight with witnesses seeing a helicopter and police with torches near Halfpenny Bridge.
A police spokesman confirmed to the Mirror the incident is ongoing. Emergency were calls made at around 10pm last night (Sunday April 30).

Police this morning were briefing about the flow of the river and where to look next. A resident who lives near the pub told the Mirror: "A friend living close to the bridge messaged that she had seen a group wrapped in metallic blankets in the back of an ambulance." A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson said: "Searches have been taking place in the River Thames after a report a teenager was in the water near Lechlade on Thames.
