Easter this morning after heavy snowfall battered the country overnight. Forecasters issued a yellow weather warning for northern Scotland from Sunday evening as an ‘arctic chill’ swept in.
The band of unseasonably cold air brought blizzards as temperatures dipped to well below freezing - with parts of the country seeing lows of -4C.Many Scots opened their windows to a surprising winter wonderland, as several inches of the white stuff landed across the north.
But it appears to be causing disruption on the roads and transport services today. Police have urged Scots to ‘be prepared’ before setting off on their journeys today.
