A domestic abuser who sued his victim for the sofa he throttled her on has been ordered to pay more than £2000 in legal costs after his claim was rejected.
Christopher Forrest was caught on camera attacking ex-partner Elizabeth Shanks at her home during a three-year campaign of abuse.
Ex-delivery driver Forrest, 41, was jailed for 27 months last year for leaving Elizabeth mentally and physically scarred. But in a sick twist he continued to abuse her from behind bars when he launched a civil action to seize a sofa and a TV he claims belonged to him.
Forrest launched court action for the maximum £5000 you can win via a small claims court. But he has been told he must pay Elizabeth £2145 to cover her expenses.
