The sister of missing Scots mum Lisa Brown has demanded to know why the former suspect in her 'murder' was able to go on the run for eight months.Dean Woods absconded from HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire last November while serving a 12 year sentence for his involvement in an £8m cocaine ring.
An international manhunt was launched to find the 41-year-old after he failed to return from day release.But the luxury yacht dealer had already left Liverpool using a passport under his former alias, Simon Corner.
He had legally changed his name from behind bars without the knowledge of authorities.Woods was eventually caught while travelling from Dublin to Frankfurt Airport in Germany on August 13.
He was brought back to the UK on September 4 to serve the rest of his sentence.Lisa’s sister, Helen Jordan, from Dumbarton, has now questioned why Woods, who has a history of absconding, was allowed out so early into his lengthy prison term.The 57-year-old said: “We just cannot understand why he was allowed out on day release in the first place.
