Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Scots student diagnosed with inoperable rare brain tumour after months of headaches

A Scots student who suffered from headaches for several months has been given the devastating news that his tumour is inoperable.Jordan Kearney, from Peterhead, was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer when a large, 4cm mass was discovered after an appointment at an opticians in June.The 22-year-old was taken into Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where an emergency biopsy was performed and three weeks later he was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM grade 4), leaving mum Maria and Damian devastated.The tumour is inoperable due to its location and Jordan is undergoing chemo-radiotherapy as his family search for alternative treatments.Jordan, who was head boy at Peterhead Academy had to defer the last term of his final year at university studying international business management, because of the debilitating headaches he was suffering.

Speaking to Aberdeen Live, Jordan's uncle David Kearney hailed his popular nephew's character and said the family had been overwhelmed with the support he's received.

He said: "It has been an absolutely horrendous eight weeks for him and his parents. He is honestly the loveliest fella that you'll ever meet.

He's never been in an argument, I don't even think he's even swore at anybody."He's been dealt an extremely bad hand. He was just away to finish university, he's 22 and he's too young to let go.
