A 13-year-old boy has been "seriously assaulted" by a gang of youths, with cops now launching a probe.Detectives in Coatbridge are investigating the serious assault of the 13-year-old that took place between 8.15pm and 8.40pm on Friday, December 6, near the shops at Glenmanor Avenue and Glenburn Avenue, Moodiesburn.
After the attack, the victim was taken home by a local woman, before he attended hospital for treatment. Police are also keen to speak to her.It is understood that police are searching for a group of youths aged between 12 and 20-years-old, all wearing dark clothing with hoods up and their faces covered.Detective Constable Craig Hartley of CID said: “Our investigation in this serious assault is ongoing.
We are reviewing CCTV footage and carrying out door-to-door enquiries to identify those responsible."I would appeal to motorists who were in the area and have dash-cam footage to come forward, you may have captured something that can assist our enquiries.“We are keen to trace a woman who came to the aid of the victim.
She took him home before he went to hospital for treatment.
