The first Christmas babies have been born in hospitals across the country. Santa Claus stopped at maternity units up and down Scotland to make some extra special deliveries earlier today.
At Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, a family from Ayr are celebrating the arrival of what may well be the first be the first Christmas Day tot to be born in the country this year.
Lauren Sim's baby girl arrived at 12.30am, weighing 5lb and 8oz.Meanwhile, also at the Ayrshire Maternity Unit, Yvonne and Paul Wilson from Ayr welcomed a baby boy weighing 5lb and 10oz at 3.16am.
The youngster has become a younger brother to Millie age 16, Calum age 13 and Kieran age 7.Next to arrive, was a baby boy for Sarah Ferguson and Kevin Hartshorn, also from Ayr.
