A Scots driver was left shocked after he spotted a cyclist dangerously trying to merge with traffic on the M8 in Glasgow during rush hour. The motorist witnessed the cyclist as he came onto the slip road eastbound to join the motorway alongside him on November 9 during the heavy morning traffic.

The cyclist who reportedly wasn't wearing a helmet or any protective gear appeared to be oblivious to the fact he wasn't supposed to be on the jam-packed road, reports Glasgow Live. After paying no attention to the beeping by the driver, the cyclist appears to continue on the road at Charing Cross before reportedly merging onto the motorway. The cyclist is not the first to be spotted in potentially dangerous circumstances.

Earlier this year there were reports of another man cycling in the middle of two lanes on the five-lane section of the M8 with a shopping bag over his handlebars.Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
