Scots cop 'seriously injured' after being hit by car as police hunt passengers

A police officer has been left "seriously injured" in hospital after he was hit by a car in Hamilton while on-duty on Friday.

Officers were on parol when they approached an Audi S3 on Low Water Road around 1pm. They attempted to engage with the occupants but the vehicle made off and was involved in a collision with one of the officers, a 33-year-old man.

Yesterday, police said the crash involved a pedestrian and a car. Police Scotland confirmed this morning, the officer has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, for treatment to serious injuries.

These injuries are not described as life-threatening.
