An elderly woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a police car in north Manchester. The crash happened on Rochdale Road, close to Queens Park in Harpurhey, at around 10.50am this morning (Monday, September 9).
Police said the woman, a pedestrian aged in her 80s, was walking when she was hit by the police vehicle. She was taken to hospital from the scene.

The M.E.N understands the police vehicle was responding to an incident elsewhere when the crash happened. An investigation is now underway, with a referral made to GMP’s Professional Standards Directorate 'in line with normal procedure'.
