ScotRail to hold minute silence on one week anniversary of Stonehaven train derailment tragedy

Stonehaven derailment tragedy.ScotRail and Network Rail staff will stage the one-minute silence on Wednesday in memory of the three men who sadly lost their lives.

Driver Brett McCullough, conductor Donald Dinnie and passenger Christopher Stuchbury will all be honoured during the vigil, which will be held at 9.43am on Wednesday.

The Aberdeen to Glasgow Queen Street passenger train left the tracks last Wednesday after it hit a landslide near Stonehaven.

The train had been turning back after coming across an initial landslip when the tragedy struck. Hero off-duty train worker Nicola Whyte, 31, who was on the train, bravely walked around three miles from the wreckage to raise the alarm at a signal box at 09.43am.
