The train driver killed in the Stonehaven crash has been named as Brett McCullough. The Scottish dad died alongside the train’s conductor and another victim this morning as the 6.38am Aberdeen to Glasgow Queen Street ScotRail service crashed after heavy rain caused a landslip on the track.
Three people lost their lives in the tragedy and six others were taken to hospital, the Daily Record reported. A colleague of Brett's was devastated to learn of his death.
They said: “He has a young family and a wife. He’s been in the railways for about six years and is a lovely man.” Brett lived less than a 15 minute drive from the site of the accident.
