Scotland has been ranked as one of the worst regions in the UK for broadband outages, with millions of residents grappling with unreliable internet service.A recent study by Broadband Genie highlights the reliability of broadband providers across the country, shedding light on the frustrations faced by Scottish households.

The research also stresses the importance of claiming compensation for any outages experienced.In the same breath, experts argue that broadband should be treated with the same importance as essential utilities like water and electricity, emphasising that even a single outage should not be overlooked.A recent survey of 3,200 UK residents by Broadband Genie has revealed that Scotland ranks as one of the worst regions in the UK for broadband reliability.The survey asked participants about the number of broadband outages they had experienced in the past year, their location, and the broadband providers they used.

A reliability score out of 100 was then calculated, based on the percentage of users with no outages, with points deducted for each reported disruption.The results show that broadband reliability varies widely across the UK, with Scotland landing in third place for the most frequent outages.
