A breakthrough has been reached in a dispute which threatened the future of Salford Red Devils. The future of the club has been in jeopardy due to a row over the ownership of the AJ Bell Stadium where they play.
Currently the city council are 50-50 joint owners of the stadium, two training pitches, and car park with property giant, Peel.
The wrangle has resulted in a protracted process with the rugby league side saying last month it could fold if the dispute is not resolved.
The club accused council officers of "endless pontification and procrastination" which could lead to it moving out even though the AJ Bell was built and opened in 2012 to showcase what was then the only professional sports team in the city.
