Salford precinct roadworks will cost an extra £1.2m - Japanese Knotweed is partly to blame

The work on Hankinson Way, Rossall Way and the subways around Salford Shopping Centre started in September 2019 and were due to last 12 months.

But contractor Eurovia claims it has incurred extra costs needed to cover a drainage redesign, additional structural works to the subways and tackling Japanese Knotweed, taking the total price of the Pendleton project to £4.4m.
