Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

dailyrecord.co.ukKenny Miller last night backed John Bennett’s decision to give Michael Beale a Rangers reprieve as he insisted it would be “crazy” to consider sacking the Ibrox boss now.The Rangers chairman has been under major pressure from large sections of the club’s support to act swiftly and call time on the Londoner’s 10 month reign.The bloodlust comes after disastrous week which started with Beale’s new-look Light Blues being humiliated in Holland as they were ripped apart by PSV in their Champions League shoot-out and ended with another meek surrender to an injury-hit Celtic side in the campaign’s Old Firm opener.
But as Record Sport revealed yesterday, Bennett and the Ibrox board are ready to stand behind their manager for now - but on the understanding results and performances will have to see a substantial improvement.And Miller is adamant the Ibrox directors have made the right call.
He said: “I know we’re probably nine games in when you factor in the European games. But in terms of the league we’re only four, and I think as much as you understand the climate and everything that goes with it, it’s craziness to be talking about removing anybody at this stage of the season.“Particularly after what’s gone on in the summer.
There’s no doubt you don’t get time at the Old Firm. Listen, it took Steven Gerrard three years to win a trophy and it was a rebuild then.
