Barbie star Ryan Gosling is reportedly in talks to join the Star Wars universe, as part of a new film directed by Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy.According to an article by The Hollywood Reporter, Gosling is in negotiations to appear in the movie, which has been in development since 2022.

There are few details on the plot, but according to the outlet’s sources it is a standalone film that will not be connected to the main Skywalker Saga.The piece also says that the project’s schedule would be bumped up if Gosling agrees to be involved, as the interest is a late development in the production and could see filming starting as early as autumn 2025.Should the deal go through, it would be a rare example of A-list talent being cast as the lead in a Star Wars film.
