Rutherglen group People’s Past People’s Future (PPPF) celebrated International Women’s Day in style with a busy event at the town’s library.More than 80 people attended the annual celebration, where they were treated to thought-provoking speeches and musical entertainment from an impressive line-up of local performers.They heard about inspirational women from speakers Geraldine Baird, who talked about the Richmond Park laundry strike in Cambuslang in 1935; and from Christina Quarrell, who discussed legendary Glasgow campaigner Mary Barbour.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
