Ruben Amorim's nightmare has come true after Sporting Clube de Portugal fell to their first defeat in over a year in Liga Portugal on Saturday night.
The Portuguese giants were stunned by Santa Clara at Estadio Jose Alvalade, with Vinicius Lopes' only strike proving to be the difference.
For the Azores-based team, it was their first ever victory over Sporting away from home. Sporting had won all 11 of their league games before Saturday, equalling a record dating back to the 1990/91 season.
They hadn't lost a league game since the 2-1 defeat to rivals Benfica on the road in November last year.
