Ronnie was born Veronica Greenfield in New York City and went on to form The Ronettes with her sister.The band was comprised of sister Estelle Bennett and their cousin Nedra Talley, and had a number of hits in the 1960s.Following their success, the group broke up in 1967 following a European concert.Ronnie went on to begin a solo career, releasing five studio albums over her lifetime.She also released an autobiography, entitled Be My Baby: How I Survived Mascara, Miniskirts, and Madness, Or, My Life as a Fabulous Ronette in 1990.In 2007, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.Ronnie is survived by her husband and manager Jonathan Greenfield and their two sons, Austin Drew and Jason Charles.Following the news of her death, tributes have poured in for the star.Don Winslow wrote on Twitter: "'The voice' Ladies and Gentlemen Ronnie Spector.
