Hollywood actor Jim Carrey and Handmaid's Tale author Margaret Atwood are among 100 Canadians newly-banned from entering Russia  in response to sanctions against the country by Canada.    The Russian Foreign Ministry said Liar Liar star Carrey, 60, author and poet Atwood, 82, and Amy Knight, 77, a noted historian of the KGB, were among the well-known names on the banned list.The trio, along with another 97 Canadians , many of whom are connected to ethnic Ukrainian organizations, were banned because of involvement in 'formation of (Canada's) aggressively anti-Russian course', said a ministry spokesman.Writer and filmmaker David Bezmozgis, 49, and Bones actress Kathryne Winnick. 44, are also among the Canadians on the list.

The 77 year old legendary singer rented the three-storey townhouse in Berkshire for husband and wife ­Rostyslav and Olena and their five children, aged between two and 17, after becoming dismayed with the plight of people in the war-torn country. Rostyslav and Olena fled their home in Ukraine with their kids after the Russian invasion – embarking on a dangerous journey over the border and across Europe before finally arriving in the UK.
