Sir Rod Stewart left fans stunned after he was spotted giving a helping hand to security at Parkhead stadium tonight.The Maggie May singer watched on as Celtic took an impressive 4-2 win against Dundee United before he signed autographs for lucky fans as he helped the security team clear fences.Fans who waited outside the stadium to get a look at their victorious players were left shocked after seeing the 77-year-old chart-topper alongside the crew.
As well as the all important football, the Hoops daft singer actually has another reason to be in Glasgow this weekend as he is set to be honoured at the Scottish Music Awards.The Do Ya Think I'm Sexy singer will be honoured at the iconic Barrowland Ballrooms in Glasgow at the Nordoff Robbins fundraiser which is sponsored by Specsavers.
The rockstar is joined by the likes of Paolo Nutini, Gerry Cinnamon, Wet Leg, Craig Logan and Rhianne Downey in being nominated for an accolade.The awards celebrate the best of home-grown Scottish talent and the chart-topper is up for the Specsavers Outstanding Achievement in Music Award.The father of eight, who recently enjoyed a trip to Glasgow visiting the Celtic FC training grounds with his youngest son, paid an emotional tribute to his late Scottish father. “In all my days I never ever dreamt I’d be receiving an award from the land of my Father. "This will be undoubtedly, an emotional evening for me, I just wish my dear old Dad (a Hibs supporter by the way) was here to enjoy it.
