Former defender Rio Ferdinand has already delivered a glowing assessment of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana amid Manchester United's reported interest in his signature.
The Reds, who will get their pre-season campaign under way against Leeds United in Oslo in just under three weeks time, are planning to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper this summer after it emerged that David de Gea is now increasingly likely to leave the club.
His current contract is up at the end of this month and he is not expected to put pen to paper on a new deal. United, originally, were planning to bring in a back-up goalkeeper this summer to compete with De Gea, but now need to try and source a replacement.
The Reds have been linked with several candidates in recent months, including Brentford's David Raya and Diogo Costa of FC Porto.
