Richard Osman has shared his thoughts on the Gino D'Acampo scandal, discussing why the celebrity chef's programmes have been pulled from TV line-ups.The Pointless host delved into the topic during the latest episode of his podcast with journalist Marina Hyde, The Rest is Entertainment, questioning why it took so long for these accusations to emerge regarding the former This Morning star.
Gino D'Acampo, 48, faced allegations of "distressing" and "sexually inappropriate" conduct in an ITV News investigation last week, as a multitude of individuals brought forward claims of "unacceptable" and "horrendous" behaviour spanning over a dozen years.
Richard Osman, who has production credits including Deal or No Deal and Whose Line Is It Anyway on top of his presenting role, remarked on the podcast about ITV's decision to cancel Gino's shows following the accusations.
Reflecting on the nuanced views surrounding the incident, Richard observed: "You could look at it on one level and some of the papers have done and certainly a lot of the commentators have done and say, 'Oh my God, you can't say anything anymore, this is a huge overreaction, yada yada yada.'" He gave his interpretation of the situation, stating, "People do not lose their job just because they said a couple of things a couple of times.
