Residents hear 'arguing' and 'loud bangs' before fire outside house following 'disturbance' in street

A fire started outside a house following a 'disturbance' in the street in Little Hulton on Thursday night (July 20). Fireworks were reportedly set off following the incident, which set fire to trees outside the front of a house.

Residents nearby reported hearing 'shouting', 'arguing' and 'loud bangs' before emergency services raced to the scene of the small fire on Beechfield Avenue at around 10pm.

The Manchester Evening News understands the fireworks were let off following a 'disturbance' that had taken place on the street, with a number of police vans arriving at the scene. A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At 10pm on Thursday 20 July, firefighters were called out to reports of a fire in a garden on Beechfield Avenue in Little Hulton, Worsley. “Two fire engines from Bolton Central and one from Farnworth quickly attended the scene where fireworks had caused conifer trees to set on fire in the front garden of a house.
