Most if not all of his acquisitions so far have shown just that, with Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro perhaps being the epitome.
As a result, the bond with fans has not only been rekindled but is thriving. They have a trust in Ten Hag not seen in any other manager since the Sir Alex Ferguson era, and this is largely due to the success of his signings and the results they have helped United achieve.
He had to alter his strategy early on in his tenure following a disastrous start to last season. The defeat to Brighton showed him that playing a midfielder as a false nine is risky at best and the mauling at Brentford showed him that David de Gea’s ball-playing abilities were lacking.
