Renfrew thumped Ayr United on the road to set up a mouth-watering top of the table clash with title rivals Rossvale.‘Frew went into the clash full of confidence after a dramatic last minute winner against fellow title hopefuls Edinburgh City.The New Western Park side knew Ayr would pose a tough challenge as they hadn’t managed to beat them before this season, with one draw and a loss previous to this meeting.However, Renfrew started the game well showing why they are in the hunt for promotion with some slick passing and control of the ball.They were made to work for the first goal when, after being awarded a penalty, Nicole Wilkie’s spot kick came crashing off the bar.After a stramash in the box, top goal scorer Sinead MacLeod showed her predatory instincts to make it.Shortly afterwards Renfrew doubled their lead when midfielder Raudh Houston made a bursting run which was found by Michaela Brown.
