The 75th anniversary of the end of World War 2 is being celebrated on Saturday with a national Red Arrows flypast. August 15 marks 75 years of Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day), which came three months after Victory in Europe Day and the formal end of the six-year conflict that claimed millions of lives.

Like this year’s VE Day anniversary, celebrations will be more muted than originally planned due to social distancing measures aimed at controlling the spread of coronavirus.

However, the Red Arrows will perform a flypast over the UK, taking in some special locations England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
