A man who was lost at sea for three months with his dog has been rescued. Tim Shaddock had to survive on raw fish after he and his dog Bella were left stranded in the Pacific Ocean when their catamaran was hit by a storm.
The pair had set sail from Mexico in April with plans to travel to French Polynesia but found themselves in big trouble when stormy weather wiped out the electronics on their boat.
Shaddock was left to survive by drinking rainwater and eating raw fish for months. Footage of his rescue show a heavily bearded Shaddock, looking eerily similar to Tom Hanks in Castaway, a movie about a man stranded on a desert island.
Shaddock can be heard telling his rescuers: "I've just got fishing gear, survival gear." with Bella seen wagging her tail at the camera crew.
