Manchester United centre-back Raphael Varane has hailed the honesty and sensitivity of former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, almost a fortnight on from the Norwegian's dismissal.
United made the decision to relieve Solskjaer of his duties following the 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road, despite no concrete succession plan, at the time, being in place.
Nevertheless, United, who have since appointed experienced German coach Ralf Rangnick as Solskjaer's replacement, felt they were left with no choice but to axe the Norwegian, who had overseen embarrassing defeats to both Liverpool and Manchester City before the humbling in Hertfordshire.
