Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Rangers players definitely had something they wouldn't normally have to deal with when they travelled to the Netherlands to take on Willem II in the Europa League.

The Dutch side have a large ultra following with many of them heading for Luxembourg last week despite none being able to get into their game against Progres Niederkorn because of coronavirus restrictions.

Rangers journeyed to Holland on Wednesday for the game in Tillburg and after checking out the pitch at the Koning Willem II Stadion, they made their way to their hotel for a rest.

But that didn't go as smoothly as they hoped as Willem II ultras arrived outside their hotel to make a helluva racket in the middle of the night to keep Steven Gerrard's squad awake.
