Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Rangers 'panic signing' Florian Kamberi blasted in scathing review of Hibs loan spell

Rangers' decision to recruit Florian Kamberi on loan from Hibs in January as a replacement for the injured Jermaine Defoe has been blasted as a panic signing by former Light Blues player Ian Murray.

The Airdrieonians boss doesn't rate Kamberi or feel that the 25-year-old has what it takes to be a success at Ibrox under Steven Gerrard.

The attacker has scored just once since the move, in a 2-2 draw against St.Johnstone and has generally flattered to deceive in the famous shirt.

The Switzerland U21 international even managed to burn bridges with his parent club Hibs at the start of his January loan by publicly declaring his delight at getting to join Rangers.
