An irate shopper attacked a supermarket worker and screamed through the locked doors "I earn more than you" after he was refused entry.

Staff at the Tesco Express store in Birkdale, Soutport, in Merseyside, locked the doors and called police after the customer turned violent.

He had apparently been told he would not be sold any alcohol before reportedly striking a member of staff and then shouting abuse through the glass when he was ushered outside.

Witnesses told the Liverpool Echo he soon turned on people queuing up around the car park. With his face pressed up at the glass, he apparently said: "Hey f***head, I earn more than you do, you f***head." "He then mumbles to himself before kicking the door and saying 'where I come from.
