RAF jets scrambled to two Russian planes off coast of UK

Two Russian aircrafts have been scrambled by Royal Air Force Typhoons off of the coast of the UK. The air force deployed the pair of Typhoons from its base near Moray in Quick Reaction Alert at 8.10am this morning.

A voyager tanker, the air-to-air refuelling aircraft - from RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, was also deployed to support the mission.

The Ministry of Defence have not revealed the nature of the operation, but have confirmed the deployment. This is a breaking news story and is constantly being updated.
