Self-described manager and advisor to R&B singer R. Kelly pleaded guilty Tuesday in a Brooklyn federal court to interstate stalking a victim in Kelly's racketeering case.  Donnell Russell, a 47-year-old Chicago resident, was accused of using "mail, phones and the internet" to "harass and intimidate" Kelly's victim along with her mother between November 2018 and February 2020, according to a statement released by the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. He could face up to five years in prison following his Nov.

R Kelly’s former manager Donnell Russell has pleaded guilty to charges of stalking, related to the harassment and intimidation of one of Kelly’s accusers.Russell was accused of threatening to publish sexually explicit images of the unnamed woman, via messages sent to both her and her mother, if she did not drop claims she had made about Kelly.The musician, of course, was convicted in a New York court last year of establishing and running a criminal enterprise in order to sexually and physically abuse women and teenagers. He has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.The campaign of harassment began in November 2018, when Russell sent a letter to the woman’s lawyer, purporting to be written by Kelly himself, featuring two cropped nude images of her and warning that he would be “publishing soon”.In January 2019, he began sending text messages to the woman and her mother, warning them to “pull the plug or you will be exposed”.

R Kelly’s former manager Donnell Russell was found guilty on Friday of threatening physical harm by interstate communication in relation to a phone call he made to a New York cinema in late 2018 in a successful bid to stop a screening of the documentary ‘Surviving R Kelly’. The guilty verdict came at the end of a short trial that began last week in the New York courts.The December 2018 screening at the NeueHouse Madison Square complex was called off after an anonymous man made phone calls to both emergency services and the cinema itself to the effect that he would “shoot up the place” if the film was shown.

The trial of R Kelly’s former manager Donnell Russell, on charges of threatening a cinema that was screening Lifetime’s ‘Surviving R Kelly’ documentary, has begun in New York.Attended by several of Kelly’s accusers, the screening at New York’s NeueHouse Madison Square complex was evacuated in December 2018 after someone called the police, fire department, New York City information service and the venue itself saying that they were going to “shoot up the place”. Although police did not consider these credible threats, they still called a halt to the event.Russell denies making any of these phone calls, although the trial focusses specifically on calls made to the venue itself.Prosecutors say that Russell made a number of calls to the venue on the day of the planned screening of the documentary, in an effort to have it called off.
