The Queen chose poignant photos and objects to feature in her VE Day speech marking its 75th anniversary. Amongst the objects in front of the Queen was a photograph of her father King George VI in his Admiral of the Fleet uniform with RAF Wings as well as Her Majesty’s Auxiliary Territorial Services cap.
On the table behind The Queen was a photograph of King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, Princess Elizabeth, Princess Margaret and Winston Churchill on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on VE Day, Tuesday 8 th May 1945.
