It is known as the Royal Burgh - but residents of a South Lanarkshire town might feel they've been crowned by default next month.
For Rutherglen is set to be the only place in the region to hold a street party for the Queen's platinum jubilee next month.
South Lanarkshire Council has confirmed the sole application for the area has come for the town's Western Avenue, and is being organised by members of Rutherglen West and Wardlawhill Church.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
