Prince Harry shared a touching story about how his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, showed her support for his wife Meghan Markle during a difficult time in her life.

In his memoir, the Duke of Sussex revealed that the Queen reached out to the Duchess while they were having tea with King Charles.

In his book 'Spare', 39 year old Harry wrote: "We all looked stunned. Meg tentatively reached for the phone. It seemed Granny was calling to talk about Meg's father." The call came after Meghan had written a letter to the Queen asking for advice on dealing with her father, who was continuously speaking to the press and making hurtful comments.

It is believed that the Queen advised Meghan to ignore the press and try to reason with her father. After concerns were raised about the media frenzy at his home in a Mexican border town posing safety risks, the Queen proposed that Meghan should pen a letter instead, and King Charles reportedly praised his mother's suggestion as a "splendid" one.
