While everyone sits down at the dinner table for Christmas dinner, the Royal Family's festivities will look a little different than the average household.King Charles and Queen Camilla will host their relatives for Christmas this year, but there will be a limit set on the amount of alcohol consumed, reports the Express. The royals will visit St Mary Magdalene Church for a service before tucking into their festive feast, but alcohol will be set to a minimum.

Princess Kate and Prince William will join the King and Queen alongside their three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - but they will be expected to not over indulge. Not even the most senior royals like the Prince and Princess of Wales will be allowed to get drunk during the festivities.

Speaking to HELLO! Magazine, former royal butler Grant Harold said he had "hand on heart never seen a member of the royal family drunk".However, he did add that "if we’re talking about staff members, that’s a different ball game!" Grant worked for the then-Prince Charles from 2004 until 2011, and has spent time with many members of the family, including Kate, William and even Prince Harry.Grant used to attend these Christmas celebrations, calling them "hysterical good fun", but he did add that "getting to sit at a table with Prince William and have lunch was quite unusual".While the royals are reserved when it comes to a drink, that doesn't mean they don't have a lot of it at their disposal during the holidays.

Among the types of alcohol are Royal Warrant holder brands, such as Laurent-Perrier champagne.Grant added: "They always offered the white wines traditionally with the starter, then the red wines".
