Prince William has pulled out of appearing at this weekend's BAFTA Film awards ceremony following the death of his grandfather Prince Philip.The 38 year old — who is the current president of the BAFTAs — was due to give a speech "celebrating the resilience of the film industry over the past year amid the global pandemic" via video link, but will now not be present.
Prince Philip, who was the first ever BAFTAs president, sadly died on Friday morning at the age of 99. Duke of Cambridge William will still appear on the show after pre-recording a conversation with costume designer Jenny Beavan and make-up artist Sharon Martin, but will not appear to make his virtual speech.
