ok.co.ukTyka Nelson, known as music icon Prince's sister, has tragically passed away at the age of 64. Her son President Nelson confirmed the heartbreaking news on Monday, November 4.
Much like her brother, Tyka was gifted with musical talent and had embarked on her own singing career, releasing albums from 1988 through to 2011.
She was all set for a farewell concert last June at the Dakota in New York but unfortunately fell ill, making it impossible for her to perform.
Charles "Chazz" Smith shared a touching post on Facebook: “Our family is very saddened to share the news of my cousin Tyka Evene Nelson who passed away this morning." The sad update of Tyka’s passing was initially made public by her son President Nelson, speaking with The Star Tribune, yet no further specifics were given regarding the circumstances of her death.
